Annathea Oppler is the Global Parenting Initiative Communications Officer for the Safety and Violence Initiative at the Centre for Social Science Research. She holds a B.Sco.Sci (Honours) in Psychology from the University of Cape Town, her dissertation focused on neuropsychology.  Previously, she has worked as a Research Assistant on the Parenting for Lifelong Health project piloting a digital parenting intervention in South Africa.

She has interests in community and critical psychology, the prevention of gender-based violence and violence against children, neuropsychology and rehabilitation, and combining qualitative and quantitative research to achieve a nuanced understanding of the issues with which she works. She is planning to pursue her Master’s degree in Psychology in clinical, counselling or neuro-psychology.
