Dr Susana Molins-Lliteras is a Postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Historical Studies (UCT) and a researcher at the Timboâucto Manuscripts Project (HUMA, UCT). She received a PhD from UCT for a thesis which presents a biography of the Fondo Kati archive, a private family library from Timbuktu.
Her research interests include pre-colonial West African history, African manuscript and archive studies, and the histories of the book and collecting in Africa. She has published articles on her work on the archives of Timbuktu and on the social history of a West African Sufi movement in South Africa.
