Dr Wilfred Lunga
Dr. Wilfred Lunga is a Chief Research Specialist in the Developmental Capable Ethical State at the Human Science Research Council. He holds a PhD in Disaster Risk Management and has extensive experience in education, environmental issues, climate change, disaster risk, indigenous knowledge, social protection, and social development. Dr. Lunga’s research interests include Prospective Risk Management, Climate Change, Household, and Community Resilience Strengthening, and using survey data to apply quantitative and qualitative methods in observational studies to evaluate interventions, programs, and policies. He is a researcher on several large multi-year projects with the Human Sciences Research Council, including the Critical Zones Africa, the Human Dimension of Climate Change, and A Double-Edged Sword research project. He is currently a Principal Investigator in the Pungwe, Buzi, and Save (BUPUSA) Basin drought assessment project funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF).
