This project explores relationships with plastic in the Anthropocene, the crisis of single-use plastic, and the slow violence of marine debris. This academic work flows through and around the politics of single-use plastic as it pertains to production, consumption and disposal. The research problematises management responses to plastic pollution in the ocean and positions beach cleanups as an important alternative ocean plastics intervention.
