This PhD research focus is on the Kuils River Multiple, an ethnography of the entanglement of an urban river in Cape Town, South Africa with the social, economic and political worlds of the city, as well as interrogating imagined futures of the city in relation to the river.

Dr Nikiwe Solomon is an environmental anthropologist working at the interface of science, technology, politics and urban river and water management. Her other research interests lie in human-nature relationships in the Anthropocene with a focus on soil and water, infrastructure, modernity and decoloniality from the Global South. She is currently a lecturer at EHS and part of Seed Box, see Nikiwe's bio.
