Msaiwale Kathewela

PhD candidate

Msaiwale Kathewela is a PhD student at Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources, where she is studying rural development and extension. He graduated from the same University with a Master's degree in gender and development. At the moment, he is employed by Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources as a Lecturer in Family Health. He has been granted a scholarship by DELTAS II in the Critical Zone Africa South and East. His research interest is the relationship between socio-ecological problems and injustices related to the environment, gendered effects of climate change, land degradation, contamination, socio-cultural dynamics of rural and urban food systems, traditional knowledge and ecological restoration, governance, and militarization of forest resources and products are some of the topics of his research.
