Gerison Saddick Stephen

PhD candidate

Mr. Gerison Saddick Stephen is currently an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Soil and Geological Sciences at Sokoine University of Agriculture in Tanzania. He holds a Master’s degree in Soil Science and Land Management and a Bachelor in Agronomy, both from Sokoine University of Agriculture. His research interests are broadly on soil health, fertility and plant nutrition, bioremediation of soils, sustainable and ecological agricultural intensification. His PhD as part of Critical Zones Africa (CZA) project will explore the dynamics of soil properties and yield in the intensified smallholder rice farming in the Kilombero Valley. He seeks to establish a foundation for evidence-based policy interventions to ensure sustainable habitability in the region and beyond.
