Lindane Nkiwane

PhD candidate

Lindani Nkiwane is a University Lecturer in the Department of Demography, Settlement and Development (University of Zimbabwe) with a particular interest in Automated Computer-Aided Design, Geographic Information Systems and Sustainable Infrastructure Planning.  He is an assiduous Spatial Planner and Environmentalist who is broadly interested in the impacts of various Urban Planning technologies in shaping urban environmental ecosystems and the resulting functional consequences on urban morphology. His research focus is on how Geo Info Systems and Infrastructure Planning technologies can be used to foster Ecological Restoration in both rural and urban areas. Mr Nkiwane has a broad interest in Biodiversity Conservation but he tends to be drawn to topics such as Alternative waste management infrastructure planning which have so far escaped much scientific attention. He has experience in teaching Introductory and Advanced AutoCAD, GIS (software’s) and environmental conservation to both Undergrad and Postgrad students. He is also an Urban and Regional Planner by profession and a Corporate Member of the Zimbabwe Institute of Urban and Regional Planners. Mr Nkiwane is a holder of a BSc Hons in Urban Planning and Development (GZU) and an MSc in Rural and Urban Planning (UZ) and is pursuing a PhD in Disruptive Infrastructure Planning at the University of Zimbabwe.
