Brief Biography:
Amanda Manqoyi-Ouamba has been with the department since 2017. She has just completed her PhD. Her doctoral research undertaken involved a comprehensive examination through qualitative interviews and a systematic literature review aimed at elucidating the dynamics of collaboration and relationships within schools. This study specifically focused on the constructs of trust and the management of learner substance use, drawing insights from the perspectives of key stakeholders, including parents, teachers, and school administrators. She brings extensive experience in research, having successfully contributed as a research assistant to many projects within the Health Economics Unit at the School of Public Health and Family Medicine at UCT

Amanda is dedicated to the management, prevention, and treatment of substance abuse in schools, families, and communities. Through her work, she not only addresses substance abuse but also illuminates broader operational issues, collaborative efforts and practices, relationship dynamics among various stakeholders, while shaping impactful policies and intervention practices in schools.
