Brief Biography:
Alicia Goosen completed her Bachelor's degree in Social Work at Stellenbosch University and is currently enrolled for her Master's degree, specialising in Clinical Social Work at the University of Cape Town.
Alicia's passion lies in working with persons with disabilities, young adults, older persons, couples, and families. Her experience includes working with clients dealing with intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder and substance abuse disorders. Her social work experience has provided her with knowledge and skills in social work principles, policies, guidelines, legislation, service delivery models, treatment plans, and intervention models.
Alicia is a trustworthy, warm, and hardworking individual who is driven by her passion for mental health and the well-being of her clients and social workers in the profession. She always strives to help others reach their highest potential.
Title of Dissertation:
Exploring the support offered to social workers working with children who have experienced domestic violence.
