Mrs Lindsay Jonkerman (She/Her)

MSocSc Specialising in Clinical Social Work

Research Supervisor:
Cindee Bruyns

Brief Biography:
After qualifying as a Social Worker in 2010 I have spent my career working in NGOs as well as high schools. My strong interest in supporting children and adolescents led me to register for this degree to ensure I could support these age groups more effectively. I currently work as the School Counsellor at Pinelands High School.

I am a proud mom of two and enjoy spending time with my husband, children, and extended family being outdoors and making the most of the beautiful city of Cape Town.

The quote that resonates the most with me is the following:
‘People will forget what you said. People will forget what you did. But people will never forget how you made them feel.’ (Maya Angelou)

Title of Dissertation:
The social relationships of adolescents living in Child and Youth Care Centres: A Capetonian adolescent perspective
