Brief Biography:
Louisa Van Romburg is a dedicated professional who transitioned from a successful 27-year career as a qualified hair stylist to pursue her passion for social work. In 2016, she graduated from the University of Western Cape with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work.
Leveraging her unique blend of life experience and academic knowledge, Louisa has spent the past seven years making a significant impact as a social worker in higher education at the University of the Western Cape's Centre for Student Support Services. In her role at the Office for Students with Disabilities, Louisa provides invaluable psychosocial counselling and plays a pivotal role in coordinating and facilitating empowerment workshops for students.
Currently, Louisa is furthering her education by pursuing a Master's degree in Clinical Social Work at the University of Cape Town. She believes that this advanced degree will equip her with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide even more valuable support to the students she serves.
