Marion Seymour

Marion holds a BA(Hons) in Political Communication from UCT's Centre for Film and Media Studies and is currently working towards completing her MA in Media Theory and Practice. Her research interest lies in the analysis of race and representation across various media platforms.

Additionally, she has worked as tutor and mentor on both the media theory and screen production sides of the academic programme, teaching courses that include Film and Media Theory, Media and Writing, and Media in the SA context, amongst others. While studying, Marion stayed abreast with the industry as a consultant to Sisters Working in Film and Television (SWIFT) and individual producers assisting with their brand and marketing strategies.

Prior to joining UCT, Marion donned an extensive career in production working with broadcasters like the SABC, eTV, and various brands across the multichoice stable.
