Barbara Warner-Smith

(PDM solo: UCT, UTLM and UPLM: UNISA, ATCL Trinity College London)

Barbara is the Head of Music at Micklefield Girls School and part time lecturer (Recorder Studies and Recorder Teaching Method) at the South African College of Music, UCT. 

She has had the opportunity to perform in solo and chamber concerts and Baroque orchestras with Shirley Gie, Barry Smith, Camerata Tinta Barocca, Umculo (Baroque Orchestra: The Fairy Queen by Purcell), Albert Horne (Baroque Orchestra: L’incoronazione di Poppea by Monteverdi) and Edita Keglerova (solo performance with harpsichordist from the Czech Republic)

In her spare time, she teaches Theory, Aural and General Music Knowledge, Flute and Recorder from home, adjudicates at Eisteddfodau, occasionally performs alongside many interesting musicians at the Noordhoek Collegium Musici, and presents masters classes on request.
