Nicholas Haralambous
Music Theory
Nicholas Haralambous is a South African musicologist and pianist. A graduate of the University of Cape Town and the Royal Northern College of Music, he recently completed a PhD in Music at the University of Cambridge, where he was a Harding Distinguished Postgraduate Scholar. His research interests include music theory and analysis, aesthetics, Austro-German modernism, and performance studies. His work has appeared in journals including Music & Letters and British Music, and he has presented his research at conferences in the United Kingdom, Belgium, and South Africa. An active pedagogue, Haralambous has taught theoretical and historical subjects at the universities of Cape Town and Cambridge.
