What started as a quirky rivalry between two composition students has become an annual tradition. Now in its 14th year, the Cone of Composition Competition returns — where student composers battle it out for bragging rights and the coveted pine cone trophy from Newlands Forest! 

Students were invited to write an original piece for Clarinet, Guitar, and Viola – and the results are wildly creative:
