The UCT Big Band marks Heritage month with a celebration of South African Jazz. Murray Buitendag directs the band, as part of his Masters’ research project.

The concert will feature works from top South African jazz composers, including Shannon Mowday, Darryl Andrews, Winston “Mankunku” Ngozi, Lana Crowster, Bokani Dyer, Mike Campbell, Zim Ngqawana, Marcus Wyatt and Themba Mkhize.

Also featuring soloists: Jed Petersen, Giuliette Price, Gilson Amaral, Carly Barendilla, Khonkco Twalo, Sarah Pengilly, Mpho Ngexe, Jesse Pretorius, Khonkco Twalo and Sazi Tshwele.
