Congratulations to Nancy Kwangwa
Nancy Kwangwa holds a BSc. Honours degree in Library and Information Science and an MSc. degree in Library and Information Science both attained from the National University of Science and Technology, Zimbabwe. She has more than ten years of experience as an academic librarian. Currently Nancy is the Chief Knowledge Management and Research Officer at the Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission.
Nancy's thesis resides within the pragmatic worldview, using a mixed-methods approach to garner insights on university-industry knowledge transfer from the University of Zimbabwe researchers and the agriculture industry. The thesis meticulously examines the knowledge transfer mechanisms and factors that affect university-industry knowledge transfer initiatives, exploring metrics for evaluating the success of such initiatives and delving into key considerations when developing an integrated knowledge transfer framework.
The thesis unveils the mutual benefits of university-industry knowledge transfer while revealing a discrepancy between knowledge generated by the University and the needs of the agriculture industry. Moreover, the thesis highlights the absence of standardised measures for measuring the impact of knowledge transfer initiatives. This has been attributed to a myriad of institutional and individual-level factors.
Guided by empirical findings and extant literature, the thesis culminates in the development of an integrated framework for university-industry knowledge transfer. This framework not only enhances theoretical understanding but also offers practical insights to policymakers and practitioners alike, enriching the discourse surrounding university-industry knowledge transfer methodologies.
