Prizegiving and farewells to the PGDipLIS class of 2024

Students and staff during the 2024 DKIS prize giving day
The Department of Knowledge and Information Stewardship held its annual prize giving event on Wednesday 16 October where it presented official departmental prizes and certificates of merit as well as sponsored MaNel Trust awards to deserving students. The ceremony also gave the UCT Careers Service, represented by Personal and Professional Development Programme (PPDP) facilitator Safia Lagerdien and Director for Careers Service, Stafford Bomester, an opportunity to wrap up the PPDP (which students complete in the latter part of the year) by awarding certificates of completion.
The department wishes the entire class all the best for the upcoming exams and for whatever lies ahead once their qualifications are complete.
Congratulations to all our prize winners, pictured above with some of the department’s academic staff members.
