The Institute for Humanities in Africa (HUMA) has been awarded a grant from the UCT Faculty of Humanities to establish a new Research & Grants Development Hub.

The hub will have as mandate to develop research, and support faculty researchers and administrative staff to secure, manage, administer and report on sponsored research awards. The unit will be tasked with increasing funding, research efficiency and output for researchers and staff in the Faculty of Humanities. This will be done through working closely with the University's Research Contracts & Innovation Office (RCI) and Development & Alumni Department (DAD) to offer training, research and grants development support, competitive grants, fellowships, grants management and administrative support, amongst others to researchers.

As part of HUMA’s mission, the hub will also increase interdisciplinary work and research funding through promoting collaboration and integrating innovative approaches among the faculty’s various research hubs.
