Doctoral Research Fellow: The Humanities Academic Pipeline
Haile Matutu is Mellon Turning the Tide Doctoral Research Fellow at HUMA pursuing a PhD in Psychological Research. His doctoral study explores how intimate partner violence in queer relationships between men influences the construction of post-violence masculinities, expanding conversations around gender, sexuality, and violence from Southern perspectives. Haile holds an MA in Psychological Research from UCT and has contributed to decolonial approaches in psychology through undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, curriculum design, and editorial roles. Haile is also a lecturer in the Department of Psychology at UCT.
