Samantha Richmond holds a Master of Social Science (MSocSc) degree in Democratic Governance, a Bachelor of Social Science Honours (BSocSc Hons) degree in Democratic Governance, and a Bachelor of Social Science (BSocSc) degree in Psychology and Organisational Psychology, all from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, at which she also completed two years of the Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology. She has research interests in the intersection between academic research, policy and community engagement. She is a trained quantitative social science researcher and an experienced research manager with 10+ years’ experience managing programs, projects, and operations on a variety of social science research topics related but not limited to democracy and governance, education and technology, socioeconomic development, and women and gender with a specific focus on the African continent. She has also published on thematic issues such as democracy, gender-based reproductive health and open-access scholarship.
