Congratulations to Dr Primrose Bimha

Congratulations to Primrose Bimha for the successful conclusion of her PhD and her (virtual) graduation on 13^th December. Primrose’s thesis (supervised by John Akokpari) examines peace-making approaches adopted by South Africa and the Southern African Development Community (SADC) in response to electoral conflicts in Lesotho (1998) and Zimbabwe (2008). The study concluded that militarised politics, intra-party crises, and interparty conflicts limited the successful implementation of peace agreements facilitated by regional mediators in the two cases.   Primrose will now be revising her thesis for publication as a book. She is also working with John Akokpari on an article on the African Union’s responses to socio-economic challenges.
