The IDCPPA partnered with scholars at the University of Botswana and the (Botswana) Centre for Public Integrity to form the Botswana Election Research Network, to study the October 2024 elections that resulted in the country’s first change of government since before Independence.

At the end of March, the Network’s volume on the elections – published by the Botswana Society as volume 57 of Botswana Notes and Records – was launched at the Parliament of Botswana. The launch was attended by the Chief Justice, the Speaker of Parliament (who spoke), ministers and MPs (including the leader of the opposition). At the launch, Prof Jeremy Seekings provided an overview of the volume.
