Mariame Niang

Postdoctoral Research Fellow: Africa AI Ethics

Mariame Niang holds a PhD in Electronics, Systems and Telecommunications from the University Cheikh Anta Diop of Dakar (UCAD), Senegal. She holds an MS in Electronics, Systems and Telecommunications and a BSc in Physics and Chemistry from the University Cheikh Anta Diop of Dakar (UCAD). Her research focused on indoor localisation using AI, with the aim of designing a robust, autonomous indoor positioning system for mobile users inside buildings such as hospitals, smart buildings, and universities. As a doctoral student, Mariame was a recipient of the AI4D Africa Scholarship project focused on responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) in African public universities.
