Keketso Bolofo

African Music

Keketso Bolofo is a multi-instrumentalist from Cape Town, South Africa. His love for music began at the age of five when he started playing the diatonic marimba. Bolofo took music as a subject in high school where he was introduced to western classical music on the descant recorder, flute, piano, and trumpet. He studied western percussion on chromatic marimba and various percussion instruments. Keketso obtained his undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications in African music at the South African College of Music, University of Cape Town. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in music and teaches African indigenous instruments at Kronendal Music Academy in Hout Bay and the University of Cape Town. In his capacity as a musician, he has performed internationally around Africa, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
