Brendan Kierman

Brendan Kierman has a BMus (UCT) and an MMus (Boston University, MA) degree. Brendan pursued a DMA from the University of North Texas and Boston University for 3 years (incomplete due to taking full time employment). He has played and recorded (BIS), with the Singapore Symphony, and has freelanced with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra as well as many regional orchestras in the North East USA, such as Boston Philharmonic under Zander,  Portland ME, New Hampshire Philharmonic, and others. Locally Brendan has played principal trumpet regularly in the KZNPO having won the principal audition in 2022 audition, and also freelance in the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Mzansi National Philharmonic Orchestra, Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra, Eastern Cape Philharmonic Orchestra,and other orchestras locally since 2005. Brendan been a member of the Jazz programme at UCT, Boston University and Jazz lab programme at University of North Texas. Brendan is also an avid violinist.
