Foam is the place in Amsterdam for photography in all its forms: from documentary to fashion, from contemporary to historic. It is a museum for photography, an addition to the city of Amsterdam: inspiring, accessible, simple, yet critical. Foam collaborates with other organisations and companies, both to realise Foam’s ambitions and because it fits in with Foam’s belief in accessibility. Collaboration provides an opportunity for a broad public to experience the power of photography.
Flip Bool, Foto Museum’s chief archivist, has visited the Photography Unit on several occasions and has shared his expertise and in-depth knowledge of photographic archives. In his last two visits (2008 and 2010) he also ran seminars and workshops attended by the broader photographic community.
