The UCT Ibuyambo Orchestra presents Fragments of Sarah, an interdisciplinary performance reflecting on the life and legacy of Sarah Baartman through sound, movement, memory and storytelling. Using sub-Saharan African indigenous instruments alongside contemporary performance practices, the work creates space for remembrance, dignity and reflection. Rather than restaging an exhibition, it reclaims presence and invites the audience into an experience shaped by music, gesture and voice. Fragments of Sarah honours history while questioning representation, identity and the capacity of performance to remember and heal.
