HUMA Director Dr Divine Fuh was appointed as co-chair of the World University Network’s (WUN) Global Africa Group (GAG) in February 2020. Associate Professor Isabella Aboderin of the University of Bristol joins Dr Fuh in leading the group.

GAG is a research group that was formed in 2015 to advance efforts to build networks and collaborations that support Africa’s development goals. It builds on the existing expertise and international partnerships amongst the Worldwide Universities Network’s members, in Africa and abroad, to identify sustainable and equitable solutions to critical local, regional and global challenges of relevance to Africa. Their work is set against the backdrop of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the African Union’s Agenda 2063.

GAG’s research priorities are environmental change and food security; public health; governance, inequality and social inclusion; higher education and research capacity; and natural resources for inclusive growth and sustainable development. This is a prestigious appointment for the university, and we wish Dr Fuh all the best in this endeavour.
