Martin Wilson
Martin obtained both his Masters in Electrical Engineering (specializing in Digital Imaging) and Bachelors in Fine Art (with distinction) at the University of Cape Town, where he now is a part-time lecturer in sculpture, drawing and curatorship. Within the CCA, Martin is involved in collaborative research projects with Iziko Museums of South Africa - which incorporate elements of post-graduate education, 3D digitization of object collections, and the production of planetarium video.
Outside of the university context, Martin is also a practicing artist, having exhibited his work with a number of galleries and museum both locally and internationally. In his artistic practice he deals with issues ranging from authenticity and simulation, to environmental concerns and epistemology. Finally, Martin is also the co-founder of Hylography - an engineering, prototyping and industrial-design start-up.
