Roxanne Jones

Researcher and MPhil candidate

Roxy completed her Honours in Curatorship at the University of Cape Town. This culminated a research project on female labour in the Western Cape through cultural analysis of the sewing machine and mixed racial language and identity. She is currently completing her MPhil specialising in Digital Curation with the Department of Knowledge and Information Stewardship. Her curation focus is on providing access points to heritage documents and objects related to indigenous communities using the research landscape as a force for sustainable socio-economic change. Roxy has been assisting with the Digital Bleek and Lloyd project since 2022 and is focused on the digital curation of lexicons in the archive for South African languages.
