The Rainbow Exchange NPC, in partnership with the South African College of Music at the University of Cape Town, proudly presents the inaugural Cape Town Woodwind Competition for flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, soprano, alto and tenor saxophones. The Woodwind Competition is open to woodwind players between the ages of 14 and 28 years who will compete in two categories, namely a Junior category (High School students) and a Senior Category (age limit 28).
The Cape Town Woodwind Competition provides a nurturing atmosphere for young talent and strives to be recognized as a competition that promotes excellence in woodwind instrument performance.
The six finalists will perform a short recital programme at the Baxter Concert Hall. The competition is adjudicated by a panel of widely recognised and experienced professional musicians.
