The Psychology Department's Prof. Floretta Boonzaier is one of five recipients of UCT's Advancing womxn award. UCT Vice Chancellor Professor Mamokgethi Phakeng launched the new scholarships at the UCT 2018 National Women’s Day event, as part of recognising excellence by women researchers and investing in their work. Prof. Boonzaier will receive five years of funding for a project that aims to shift ways of thinking about and doing research on gender-based violence, impacting not only the ways we teach approaches to research, but also the ways we think about the purpose of research itself and the benefits that might be derived from it.
