Who Am I?
What caused me to embark on a journey of deeper introspection and self-reflection was the question I asked myself during March/April this year: “Who Am I?”- the title of my exhibition. I initially started to think about whether or not I am a good person. If I embody all the things that I believe good people embody. Going so far as to think about it not just socially, but spiritually and existentially. My work explores the complexities of identity, memory, and self-reflection through a mix of stop-motion animation, film, and symbolic objects like mirrors and paper. Each piece delves into different stages of personal introspection, focusing on the pursuit of self-awareness and accountability. With the question, "Who am I?" I engage with themes of regret, acceptance, and transformation, often referencing personal habits, cultural influences, and religious foundations. Through contrasting materials and layered narratives, I invite viewers to confront their sense of self and the ongoing journey of identity formation. My work invites in-depth reflection on identity, memory, and self-perception, encouraging viewers to question the fluid nature of selfhood. Using stop-motion animation, mixed media, and mirrors, I explore themes of responsibility, identity disintegration, and self-improvement. By juxtaposing materials and symbols, I aim to provoke contemplation on the challenges of personal development and transformation.
