The Michaelis School of Fine Art hosts its annual Graduate Exhibition at Hiddingh Campus from 5 December–13 December 2025. This exhibition is a major event that draws many interested art collectors and art enthusiasts.
Michaelis Associate Professor, Jean Brundrit’s solo exhibition Espazos Precarios: O fin do mundo recently opened in Palas de Rei, Galicia, north-west Spain.

In 2025, the Michaelis School of Fine Art will celebrate its 100th anniversary, marking a century since the Cape Town School of Art was officially incorporated into UCT on 1 October 1925.
Congratulations to Yusra Fakier for being awarded the Tierney fellowship which runs from July 2025 to May 2026. This prestigious fellowship was established in 2003 and support and mentor emerging photographers.
‘Holding a Thought: The puppetry of Ukwanda’, curated by Kurt Campbell and Premesh Lalu, will be open for viewing from 13:00 onwards on the 23 July until 20 August in the Michaelis Galleries main and upper galleries.
