Brian Levy discusses governance and improving educational outcomes

Brian Levy, Academic Director of the Graduate School of Development Policy and Practice at the University of Cape Town, presented the April 3 CSSR/Institute Seminar on "Governance and the improvement of educational outcomes". In 2018, for the first time, the World Bank devoted its World Development Report to education. The Report (titled Learning to Realise Education's Promise) examines 'how to make schools work for learners' and 'how to make systems work for learning'. Brian will review critically the 2018 Report, drawing on his own recent work on the governance of education in South Africa and Kenya.
