African Union Solutions to Continental Challenges: Myth and Reality

The Institute held a one-day research conference on African Union Solutions to Continental Challenges: Myth and Reality on July 11. This conference was designed to create a research platform for academics, students, policy analysts, and civil society practitioners to assess the challenges facing the African Union (AU) as it approaches 20 years since the signing of the Constitutive Act, of 2000, that established the continental body. Participants interrogated the myth and reality of the African Union’s achievements and the extent to which it has succeeded in addressing continental challenges.
