Political Parties, the State and Basic Service Delivery in Africa
Matthias Kronke gave the October 29th Institute lunchtime seminar on Political Parties, the State and Basic Service Delivery in Africa. This seminar discussed the role of political parties as part of the democratic accountability mechanism and shows how their presence can improve citizen’s satisfaction with basic services. Furthermore, the research provided some tentative explanations for the varying importance of state capacity in the delivery of satisfactory services.
