From Xenophobia to Pan-African Citizenship
The Institute held the workshop "From Xenophobia to Pan-African Citizenship: Confronting Internalised Colonialism" on March 13, 2020. The conference debated and discussed appropriate state and societal interventions that are designed to dismantle the pervasive xenophobic mindset, infused with an internalised self-hate and colonial mentality, and replace this with one informed by Pan-Africanism, predicated on critical self-awareness, self-confidence and continental solidarity.
