Anso van Wyk recently participated in Making and Interpreting Art in 2025:  a Symposium for Honours and Masters Students in Art and Design. This conference was held by the Chair for South African art at the University of Johannesburg on the 11th and 12th of August. The event connected graduate students from across South Africa and allowed them to share and critically reflect on their work.

Anso spoke about their Master’s in Fine Art progress by sharing their process, reflecting on lingering questions and the aims of their project. This opportunity allowed them to engage with other academics and receive feedback from professionals in the fields of art and design. Convened by Prof. Irene Bronner and Dr Mellisa Gerber, the conference afforded students the opportunity to collaborate and to grow their artistic practices.

Anso is supervised by Svea Josephy and Gretchen van der Bjil and will submit for their MFA examination in November 2025.
