Motherhood: Paradox and Duality walkabout with Michaelis staff

On September the 18th Michaelis staff Nomusa Makhubu, Jean Brundrit and Svea Josephy along with Hannem Christian gave a walkabout to the public around their work on the Motherhood: Paradox and Duality exhibition. This important exhibition brings together over 70 artists across diverse media and time periods in South Africa to explore the complexities of mothering. This exhibition challenges, redefines, and expands notions of motherhood in a rapidly changing world. 

The artists were invited by the curator Andrea Lewis to talk about their work, which was all photography focused as part of the Cape Town Photography festival, which is taking place in the city from 3-27 September 2025.
