The University of Johannesburg has announced the shortlist for books published in 2023. Congratulations to Wisani Mushwana (a PhD student in the department) whose novel A Soft Landing has been shortlisted in the category ‘Debut Prize’.

Dr Siphiwo Mahala, on behalf of UJ Prize, noted that:

“The judges were particularly impressed by the high quality of the entries, especially from the first-time authors.”
