Professor Mark Solms has been awarded the prestigious Harry Oppenheimer Fellowship Award, which is considered to be the pre-eminent research prize on the African continent. Awardees are leading scholars with sustained records of outstanding research and intellectual achievement at the highest level. Prof. Solms is the first psychologist to win the award. The award will be used to finance the third phase of Prof. Solms’ ongoing research project, which looks at the interaction between the brain mechanisms and psychology of depression.
