The Botswana Pavilion - No Return is an exhibition featuring Michaelis students.
The Botswana Pavillion - No Return is an exhibition featuring a sele.0ction of works from four Botswana artists; Thero Makepe, Kim Karabo Makin, LegakwanaLeo Makgekgenene and Thebe Phetogo. The artists are all currently studying at the Michaelis School of Fine Art. Together, the works describe the motions of engaging with the complexities of investigating perceptions of home, their now dislocated identities, existing in ‘foreign’ spaces as ‘foreigners’ and reclaiming agency. This is achieved through delicate storytelling and by choosing to ground reality in themselves, as opposed to grounding themselves in their immediate realities.
