Fritha Langerman opens exhibition in Stellenbosch
Associate Professor Fritha Langerman at Michaelis opened her recent exhibition on Saturday 5 May in Stellenbosch at the GUS art gallery. A number of staff and students attended along with members of the public and the University of Stellenbosch. Langerman’s new exhibition presents 45 new works which fluidly navigate the realms of drawing, printmaking, and microscopy.
SCATTER takes the associative language of ‘forest’ and ‘clearing’ as its starting point, evoking environmental challenges and consciousness; of places at the edges of exteriority and interiority; as simultaneous places of refuge and physical denial; of conquest and colony; of settlement and distribution.
Congratulations Fritha on this finely crafted thoughtful exhibition.
