Silent Auction 2023

The 2023 graduating class of Michaelis School of Fine Art UCT are pleased to announce that they will be hosting the annual Silent Auction fundraiser, 13-15 September on bidPro – an online auction platform. 

This highly anticipated event, and continued Michaelis tradition, provides funds  that aid in the facilitation of the graduate exhibition show. In addition to this, funds raised through the auction assist in the production of professional catalogues for the graduating class and contributes to the Materials Bursary Fund which provides disadvantaged students with financial assistance towards art supplies. 

All pieces auctioned are donations from various contemporary artist, local and non-local. This fundraising effort sets the foundation for important elements in the development of socially connected, resourceful young artists. It enables the graduating class an opportunity to give back to the school, and to frame their work within a broader context of professional art practice. 

The event is entirely not-for-profit, with all proceeds going to the 2023 graduation show exhibition and the Materials Bursary Fund.
