Faculty International Student Bursary |
In addition to standard tuition fees, all non-SADC international students pay an international term fee (ITF). The Faculty of Humanities provides annual Faculty International Student Bursaries (FISB) to deserving international Postgraduate Diploma, Honours and Coursework Master's students. These bursaries are awarded based on academic merit and/or on financial need, at the discretion of the Faculty. Preference is given to students who are nationals of countries on the African continent that continent, that are not members of SADC. |

MOU |
The Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) is an agreement between the Graduate student (all new Masters and Doctoral students) and his/her supervisor. It is designed to ensure that the supervision experience is as mutually productive as possible and must be completed. An annual supplement must be completed each subsequent year before the student can renews his/her registration |

Notice of intention to submit (Masters) |
The Notice of intention to submit (HUM09) form must be submitted at least 6 weeks prior to the submission of your dissertation. |

Notice of intention to submit (PhD) |
The Notice of intention to submit form must be submitted in order to notify the department of your intention to submit your thesis. The closing dates for Doctoral candidates are: 10 January (June Grad) or 20 June (December Grad). For more information, click on the website link on the right. |

Cancellation of registration |
There is no closing date for the cancellation of registration form. The date of submission to the faculty office is taken as the date of cancellation. |

Revision and resubmission of a Masters dissertation |
In terms of University regulations, a candidate who is given the opportunity to revise and resubmit the dissertation is required to do so within one year from the date of notification. Such resubmission must comply with the submission dates set annually by the Faculty. Please read the information sheet for further details. |
Academic support
- UCT Libraries: The Chancellor Oppenheimer Library is the main library on campus however there are nine other branch libraries located on UCT's various campuses. The entrance to the main library is located inside the Otto Beit Building, next to Jameson Hall on the upper campus. All of these libraries offer a rich array of study and research material both in print and electronic format.
- The Writing Centre: located within the Language Development Group, this is a student orientated space which aims to provide mediation in the process of academic writing. Students from all disciplinary backgrounds as well as tertiary levels are encouraged to engage in the one-on-one consultancy services offered. The Writing Centre is located in the Hlanganani Building on Upper Campus (two levels above the main library). The Centre is open Monday - Friday from 09h00 to 16h00. Personal support
Postgraduate study can be very isolating so it is important to maintain regular contact with your peers. You can learn a lot from each other. In addition support is available from the Postgraduate Affairs office and from your course supervisors.Links and Downloads:
