Leon Bomela Loombe holds a MA (with distinction) in English Language and Literature from the University of Kisangani (UNIKIS), in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). His research interests include African literature, contemporary fiction, Postcolonial Theory and Criticism; African nationalist and political writings.

His PhD project, ‘Negotiating Identity and Belonging in Nyamnjoh’s Novels: An Ethno-postcolonial Approach’ investigates how ethnographic fiction as a genre has been taken up and adopted to address the question of identity and belonging in Postcolonial literature. The struggle for emancipation of the marginalized minorities as well as both internal and external mobilities are problematized to reveal the role of linguistic diversity in the quest for cultural identity.
