Marcelo C. Rosa is as visiting researcher at the Centre for African Studies and an Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Brasilia, Brazil.
Biography: 
His work in the field of sociology is dedicated to the development, teaching and exchanging of the theories of the south in the Social Sciences. Having researched on the landless movements in Brazil and South Africa his work is focused on the construction of theories and methodologies that would allow themes and social struggles such as the land question to occupy a central role in these disciplines. He is one of the editors and founders of the Agrarian South: Journal of Political Economy.
